Anatahan Weekly Update issued Oct 19, 2007 04:57 MPT Volcanic-Alert Level NORMAL - Aviation Color Code GREEN
Report prepared by the U.S. Geological Survey. The aviation color code and alert level for Anatahan remain at GREEN and NORMAL. No unusual seismic activity was noted this week. No volcanic haze and sulfur advisories were issued by the CNMI Emergency Management Office (EMO) this week. Some gas emission and steaming from Anatahan may still occur. During more northerly winds, the Anatahan plume will be blown towards CNMI and Guam and may be experienced as a sulfur-scented haze. The EMO will issue a volcanic haze and sulfur advisory when appropriate. Access to the island may be restricted by the CNMI government.
